Record Nutrition Kit Distribution During Seva Pakwada: Over 35,000 TB Patients Received Support in a Single Day

Jaipur, Sept 2025: Under the Seva Pakwada, organized to ensure that villages, the poor, and the needy fully benefit from government schemes, Rajasthan achieved a remarkable milestone. Guided by Chief Minister Shri Bhajanlal Sharma and under the direction of Health Minister Shri Gajendra Singh Khimsar, a statewide nutrition kit distribution program was held on Saturday. On this occasion, 35,439 TB patients received nutrition kits, strengthening their treatment and overall health.

CM’s Review in Banswara:

Chief Minister Shri Bhajanlal Sharma visited the camp in Banswara under Seva Pakwada. The Medical Department set up exhibitions on the Ayushman Arogya Yojana and TB Mukt Bharat Abhiyan. During the camp, 523 nutrition kits were distributed, and beneficiaries of the “Maa Yojana” were registered. State Nodal Officer Dr. S.N. Dhaulpunia informed the CM that Rajasthan ranks second nationally in TB screening, while Banswara holds the first position.

Departmental Achievements:

Principal Secretary of Health, Smt. Gayatri Rathore, said Rajasthan continues to make significant progress toward a TB-free India. The Seva Pakwada nutrition kit program highlighted the state’s commitment by distributing over 35,000 kits in a single day.

Director of Public Health, Dr. Ravi Prakash Sharma, reported the highest kit distributions were in Alwar (2,937), Dholpur (2,394), Bhilwara (2,307), Sikar (2,266), and Sawai Madhopur (2,094). Nutrition kits were provided across all districts to support TB patients.

Niksay Mitra Initiative:

State TB Officer Dr. Purushottam Soni explained that the Niksay Mitra initiative, launched in 2022 under the TB Mukt Bharat campaign, aims to provide nutrition and social support to TB patients during treatment. Volunteers from various sections of society—including elected representatives, institutions, businesses, NGOs, and social workers—can adopt TB patients and provide support. Such volunteers are called Niksay Mitras, representing a successful government-society partnership.

Since 2022, over 55,000 Niksay Mitras have been created in Rajasthan, providing nutritional support to more than 3 lakh TB patients. Assistance is given for a minimum of one month and up to the full treatment duration of six months. Rajasthan ranks fourth nationally in providing nutrition support to TB patients and second in creating Niksay Mitras. The state government remains committed to ensuring that TB patients across Rajasthan continuously benefit from the Niksay Poshan Yojana.
