Namo Yuva Run’ Inspires Thousands in Mumbai, Promotes Fitness and Drug-Free India
Mumbai, Sept 2025 : The streets of Mumbai came alive on Sunday as thousands of young people took part in the ‘Namo Yuva Run’, a nationwide initiative aimed at promoting fitness and a ‘Nasha Mukt Bharat’ (drug-free India). The event, organized by the Bharatiya Janata Yuva Morcha (BJYM) as part of the BJP’s Seva Pakhwada celebrations, was held to commemorate Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s 75th birthday on September 17.

Flagging off the marathon in Mumbai were Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis, BJYM chief and BJP MP Tejasvi Surya, and several senior party leaders. The initiative, running concurrently at 75 locations across the country, aims to combine youth fitness with social responsibility, encouraging participants to adopt healthy lifestyles while spreading awareness against drug abuse.
Actor and fitness icon Milind Soman, appointed as the event’s brand ambassador, lent his presence to the campaign, inspiring participants and emphasizing the importance of health and determination. “It’s a very good initiative. Whenever such a run is organized, I feel very happy. This occasion is even more special as it marks our Prime Minister’s birthday. Over 10 lakh people are joining this movement across the nation today,” Soman said, highlighting the scale and significance of the campaign.
Speaking at the event, Tejasvi Surya emphasized the dual focus of the initiative. “To mark PM Modi’s 75th birthday, the Seva Pakhwada is being organized by the party. As part of a pledge for a drug-free India, large runs have been organized at 75 locations across the country. Over 10,000 youth have joined us here in Mumbai today. I am extremely grateful to Milind Soman for being the ambassador for this event and motivating everyone to stay fit,” he said.
The marathon reflects the BJP’s broader vision of promoting Fit India, Nasha Mukt Bharat, and Atmanirbhar Bharat. Milind Soman echoed this sentiment, stating, “The Prime Minister’s and our dream is to ensure that we achieve the dream of Fit India and a drug-free India. If we make consistent efforts, we will definitely succeed.”

Beyond physical activity, the ‘Namo Yuva Run’ serves as a platform for youth engagement, fostering a sense of community and shared responsibility. Participants not only commit to personal fitness but also take part in spreading the message of social awareness, motivating others to reject substance abuse and adopt healthier lifestyles.
The event in Mumbai witnessed a massive turnout of over 10,000 participants, ranging from students and young professionals to fitness enthusiasts, all joining hands to celebrate health, discipline, and national pride. The streets reverberated with energy and enthusiasm as runners of all ages took part in the 5-kilometer run, embodying the spirit of determination, teamwork, and social responsibility.
The ‘Namo Yuva Run’, blending physical fitness with a social cause, has successfully turned into a national movement, highlighting the power of youth in shaping a healthier, stronger, and drug-free India. With simultaneous events in 75 locations, the campaign sends a clear message: the next generation is ready to lead India toward a future of fitness, resilience, and collective well-being.
