New GST reforms to accelerate India’s economic growth -Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis

Mumbai, Sept 2025 : The second phase of Goods and Services Tax (GST) reforms will come into effect across the country from September 22. These reforms will give a new momentum to India’s economic growth, said Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis today.

He was speaking at the musical programme “Mera Desh Pehle – The Untold Story of Shri Narendra Modi”, conceptualised by renowned lyricist and poet Manoj Muntashir. The event was held at the Nita Ambani Cultural Centre in the Bandra-Kurla Complex. The programme was attended by Assembly Speaker Adv. Rahul Narwekar, Protocol Minister Jaykumar Rawal, Skill Development Minister Mangal Prabhat Lodha, former minister Ravindra Chavan, former minister Vinod Tawde, and several other dignitaries.

Chief Minister Fadnavis said that the country is fortunate to have Prime Minister Narendra Modi, who has shaped the vision of a New India. “Today, India stands with pride on the global stage, and the entire credit for this goes to the foresight and leadership of Prime Minister Modi,” he said.

Highlighting Modi’s contributions, Fadnavis said, “Over the past 11 years, Prime Minister Modi has given new direction to India’s economy and development. He has fought a decisive battle against poverty. Today, India stands strong and respected on every international platform.”

Speaking on the GST reforms, he added, “The second-generation GST reforms commencing on September 22 will not only boost India’s economy but will also directly benefit common citizens. These reforms will further strengthen India’s path towards becoming Atmanirbhar Bharat (self-reliant India).”
Referring to the untold story of Prime Minister Modi’s life depicted in the programme, Fadnavis said, “Modiji has created a New India – a powerful, leading India. In this journey, many facets of his life have come to light. But how was his personality shaped? Through what hardships did he pass? How did his life, dedicated entirely to the nation, evolve step by step? These lesser-known aspects are beautifully portrayed in this programme, and they are truly inspiring.”

The musical programme, conceptualised by lyricist and poet Manoj Muntashir, presented various phases of Prime Minister Modi’s life — from his childhood to his political journey, his challenging times, his leadership role, and other defining experiences.
