KTR Blasts Congress and BJP, Urges Professionals to Join Public Life in Telangana

Hyderabad, Sept 2025: BRS Working President KT Rama Rao (KTR) launched a fierce attack on both the Telangana Congress government and the BJP-led central administration during a political event at Telangana Bhavan on Tuesday. While inducting renowned Karimnagar medical professionals Dr. Ontela Rohit Reddy and senior gynecologist Dr. Gogula Gautami Reddy into the Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS), KTR stressed the urgent need for educated professionals to enter public life and help steer the state toward progress.

Addressing the Revanth Reddy-led Congress government, KTR criticized its handling of farmer protests, questioning whether the brutal beating of farmers demanding urea was reflective of Rahul Gandhi’s so-called “love shop.” “Farmers in Suryapet faced third-degree torture for demanding fertilizer. Is this what Congress calls love? To beat the hands that feed the nation?” he asked. KTR lambasted the government for failing to honor its much-publicized “farmers’ manifesto” and described the administration as “shameless” and “sightless,” particularly on critical issues like irrigation and infrastructure.

Turning to the central government, KTR accused the BJP of economic exploitation, alleging that the Modi administration has looted ₹15 lakh crore over the past eight years through arbitrary GST slabs. “And now, just before the Bihar elections, they reduce the slabs and ask people to celebrate. This is not relief—it’s election-time posturing,” he said, highlighting the BJP’s unfulfilled promises of ₹15 lakh in every citizen’s account, doubling farmers’ income, bullet trains, eliminating black money, and providing housing for all. KTR also pointed to the rising cost of living, noting that gas cylinders have surged from ₹350 to ₹1,200 and petrol from ₹65 to over ₹100. “Reduce these prices, then people can truly celebrate,” he added.

KTR also criticized Chief Minister Revanth Reddy, accusing him of acting in the interests of TDP chief Chandrababu Naidu and deliberately delaying the repair of the Medigadda Barrage. Drawing comparisons with neighboring Karnataka, he said, “Karnataka is spending ₹70,000 crore to raise the Almatti Dam by five meters. But when KCR built Kaleshwaram at a cost of ₹93,000 crore to irrigate four million acres, they allege corruption. Where is the ₹1 lakh crore scam in a ₹93,000 crore project? Who built the tunnels, barrages, and pump houses?”

In a moment of introspection, KTR acknowledged responsibility for BRS’s electoral setbacks, quoting KCR: “KCR did more for Telangana than any other Chief Minister in India, but we leaders failed to convey it to the people. The people were not wrong—we were wrong. If the people are betrayed, they will rise up.” He highlighted the alleged stalling of the Karimnagar Smart City project despite BRS leaders’ grassroots efforts and urged youth and professionals to emulate Dr. Gautami Reddy by actively participating in Telangana’s development.

KTR sharply criticized Revanth Reddy’s controversial remarks branding Telangana a “cancer patient,” calling it “a slap in the face of every hardworking citizen.” He stressed that during KCR’s tenure, there was no shortage of electricity, water, or urea—not even during COVID-19—but under the current administration, these basic provisions have disappeared due to “incompetence.”

Concluding on a confident note, KTR asserted that the people of Telangana would once again rally behind KCR. “KCR didn’t just rule—he led a movement. Under his leadership, Telangana became the number one state in terms of per capita income. When elections come, people will remember who truly served them. Karimnagar will once again give a historic mandate,” he said.
