Champhai District Holds Cleanliness Drive under Swachhata Hi Seva 2025

Champhai, Sept 2025: In Champhai, a large-scale cleanliness drive was organized under the Swachhata Hi Seva 2025 campaign, themed “One Day, One Hour, One Together.” The government-led initiative aimed to promote public participation in cleanliness and sanitation.

During the event, Champhai Bawrhsap Pu Mohammad Aaquib emphasized the importance of the drive, encouraging widespread involvement. He highlighted that this effort would help make Champhai district cleaner and more livable, ensuring public awareness about hygiene and sanitation. Participants, including volunteers, were provided with essential items such as garbage bags, gloves, and cleaning tools to facilitate the drive effectively.

The event was inaugurated by DUDO Pu Ngulzathuama and included participation from Dr. Zatluanga, DMS, at the Champhai Officers Club. The government-led cleanliness initiative was organized from the Champhai Officers Club, covering nine localities in the Bethel area, with strict supervision and guidance provided by government officials.

In addition, nearby villages and residential areas in Champhai participated actively, engaging in cleaning activities. The drive also involved volunteers conducting awareness campaigns in local communities to educate citizens on proper sanitation practices.

The Swachhata Hi Seva Campaign 2025 is scheduled to run for three weeks, from 17th September to 2nd October, aiming to involve citizens in widespread cleanliness activities. Various departments, Village Councils (VCs), and NGOs coordinated efforts to mobilize volunteers. Health departments were also involved to ensure that hygiene practices were properly followed.

This initiative emphasizes the significance of community participation in maintaining cleanliness and creating a healthier environment across Champhai district.
