Successful Completion of CATC-94 Organised by 2 Mizo Battalion NCC at Lunglei

Lunglei, Sept 2025 : The Combined Annual Training Camp (CATC-94), organised by the 2 Mizo Battalion National Cadet Corps (NCC) at the 2nd Battalion Mizoram Armed Police (MAP) Complex, Luangmual, Lunglei on September 18, 2025, was successfully concluded yesterday.

More than 200 cadets from schools and colleges in southern Mizoram, representing the Junior Division (JD), Junior Wing (JW), Senior Division (SD), and Senior Wing (SW) of the NCC, participated in the 10-day camp. During the camp, cadets received intensive training in military drill, rifle and weapon handling, map reading, fieldcraft, physical fitness, leadership skills, and community service awareness. Subject experts also conducted sessions on military ethos, healthy eating, disaster preparedness, protection against drug abuse, legal literacy, responsible use of media, and ethical values.

A special highlight of the camp was a live drone demonstration for the cadets. Under the Vibrant Village Programme, NCC officers and cadets also engaged with the people of Lunglawn locality, organizing cleanliness drives under the “Swachhata Hi Seva” campaign, volleyball matches, and awareness sessions on community living, civic responsibility, and national integration.

For the first time under the 2 Mizo Battalion NCC, an all-girls guard of honour, known as the “Girls Guard,” was introduced. The Girls Guard displayed impressive rifle drill and saluting techniques.

At the closing ceremony, Camp Commandant Colonel Sagar K. Mohanty congratulated the cadets for their commitment, discipline, and achievements, and expressed gratitude for their enthusiastic participation. Awards were presented to cadets for excellence in various camp activities. A vibrant cultural programme showcasing Mizo songs, dances, and cadets’ diverse talents marked the conclusion of the camp.
