Industrial Development Will Build a Prosperous Economy: CM Devendra Fadnavis
Unveils District Mineral Foundation’s Coffee Table Book
Chandrapur, Sept 2025 : Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis has said that Chandrapur and Gadchiroli are emerging as industrial magnets, and industrial development will play a key role in creating a prosperous economy. He emphasized that initiatives funded through the District Mineral Foundation (DMF) are transforming the region by supporting cancer hospitals through Tata Trusts, skill-based employment, healthcare, infrastructure development, education, and innovative projects.
The Chief Minister was speaking at the unveiling of a Coffee Table Book published by the District Mineral Foundation at the rest house in Mul, Chandrapur. Present on the occasion were Tribal Development Minister and Chandrapur Guardian Minister Dr. Ashok Uike, MLAs Sudhir Mungantiwar, Kishor Jorgewar, and Deorao Bhosale, along with District Collector Vinay Gowda, CEO Pulkit Singh, Additional Collector Dr. Nitin Vyawahare, District Mining Officer Rohan Thaware, and other officials.
CM Fadnavis highlighted Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s vision that citizens living in mining areas should be the foremost beneficiaries of mineral funds. He said, “Mining and its transportation often cause inconvenience to locals, so the maximum share of mineral funds should go directly to them.”
Chandrapur district, he noted, has successfully undertaken many initiatives through the mineral development fund, including employment generation, healthcare, education, and innovative skill-based projects.
Stressing the potential of the region, Fadnavis said that with Chandrapur and Gadchiroli becoming industrial hubs, over 1.5 lakh employment opportunities will be created. He also underlined the importance of balancing industrialization with environmental protection, ensuring that Chandrapur sets an example of sustainable development. The state government aims to ensure that 100% of jobs go to local youth through skill development programs.
Recalling Maharashtra’s success in the 50 crore tree plantation drive, Fadnavis urged Chandrapur to set ambitious targets once again. Maharashtra is the only state in India to have significantly increased its green cover, he said, adding that the aim is now to raise the state’s forest cover beyond 33%. He praised Chandrapur district administration for effectively utilizing mineral development funds.
The program was conducted by Additional Collector Dr. Nitin Vyawahare, while District Collector Vinay Gowda delivered the vote of thanks.
