One Day Painting Workshop on Viksit Bharat

Aizawl, Sept 2025: On September 27, 2025, the North East Zone Cultural Centre (NEZCC), Dimapur, Ministry of Culture, Government of India, in collaboration with the Art & Culture Department, Government of Mizoram, organized a “One Day Painting Workshop on Viksit Bharat.” The theme of the workshop was “Culture & Tradition.”

The competition was held in three categories:

  • Professional Category – 21 artists participated.
  • Young Artists/College Student Category – 40 students took part.
  • School Students Category – 98 school children participated.

At 4:00 PM, a prize distribution ceremony and the closing function of the workshop were held. Shri C. Lalsawivunga, Hon’ble Minister, Art & Culture Department, graced the occasion as the Chief Guest. The programme was chaired by Pi Zodingpuii, IAS, Secretary, Art & Culture Department. She highlighted the support extended by NEZCC through various programmes in Mizoram.

In his address, Hon’ble Minister Shri C. Lalsawivunga expressed gratitude, noting that the workshop had drawn participants not only from Aizawl but also from other districts. He praised the immense expressive power of art, stating that it was a medium through which complex thoughts could be conveyed. He encouraged participants to continue nurturing their talents and assured that the government would support their creative journeys.

Shri Vanlalhriata, President, Mizoram Art Development Society (MADS), delivered the adjudicators’ remarks on how the artworks were evaluated. He explained that the judging was conducted jointly by MADS and the Art & Culture Department.

  • 1st Prize: C. Remruatkima, Dinthar Veng – Rs. 1,00,000 & Certificate
  • 2nd Prize: Vanlalzarzova, Upper Republic Veng – Rs. 50,000 & Certificate
  • 3rd Prize: K. Lalramchhana, Muanna Veng – Rs. 25,000 & Certificate

Young Artists/College Student Category (Above Class 12, below 30 years)

  • 1st Prize: F. Malsawmzuala, College Veng – Rs. 25,000 & Certificate
  • 2nd Prize: Zomuanpuia, Lawipu Veng – Rs. 15,000 & Certificate
  • 3rd Prize: Vanlalrohlua, Kanan Veng – Rs. 10,000 & Certificate

School Students Category (Up to Class 12)

  • 1st Prize: Ruthi Lalhmangaihi, Mary Mount School – Rs. 10,000 & Certificate
  • 2nd Prize: Isak Lalrammuanpuia, Govt. Mizo H/S – Rs. 5,000 & Certificate
  • 3rd Prize: Lalnunmawii Jongte, AR ELLS School – Rs. 2,500 & Certificate

Consolation Prizes (School Category):

  • Ruth Lalnunmawii, Govt. Mizo Higher Secondary School – Rs. 1,000 & Certificate
  • Lalrintluangi, Govt. Mizo H/S – Rs. 1,000 & Certificate
  • Lalhmangaihzuala, Govt. Mizo Higher Secondary School – Rs. 1,000 & Certificate
