Positive Change Through Poshan Abhiyan
Awareness Programs Across the State Focus on Improving the Health of Women and Children
Raipur, Sept 2025 : Under the guidance of Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai and Women & Child Development Minister Mrs. Laxmi Rajwade, the Poshan Abhiyan is being effectively implemented across the state. The campaign aims to improve the nutritional levels of pregnant and lactating mothers, infants, and adolescent girls, while also educating communities about balanced diets and proper nutrition.
Tackling Malnutrition and Anemia
Chief Minister Sai said that the state government is giving top priority to women’s and children’s health. He emphasized that Poshan Abhiyan is playing a vital role in eliminating issues such as malnutrition and anemia. Minister Rajwade added that the department’s goal is to spread the message of nutrition to every village and bring positive changes in the lives of women and children.
Statewide Implementation
With the guidance of district collectors and program officers, the campaign is progressing steadily across all districts. As part of this effort, special nutrition awareness programs were recently organized in Chaunpur and Kathautia Gram Panchayat of Manendragarh-Chirmiri-Bharatpur district, where a large number of women participated.
Experts and officials informed participants about preventive measures against stunting, low weight, and underweight at birth in children aged 0–6 years, aimed at reducing malnutrition rates.
Focus on Anemia Eradication
The program also addresses reducing anemia cases among children, adolescent girls, and women aged 15–49 years. Nutrition awareness sessions provided guidance to pregnant and breastfeeding mothers on malnutrition, balanced diets, and overall health improvement. The initiative promotes comprehensive nutrition, balanced meals, and better healthcare access for mothers and children.
Community Engagement
At the end of the program, nutritious snacks were distributed to women, who were also encouraged to spread awareness about proper nutrition within their families and communities.
This campaign is not only improving the health standards of women and children but also spreading the message of correct nutrition to every corner of the state.
