Ahmedabad Shopping Festival 2025 to Run from December 5 to January 16, 2026
Gandhinagar, Sept 2025 : The Ahmedabad Shopping Festival 2025 will be held from December 5, 2025, to January 16, 2026, in collaboration with the Government of Gujarat and the Ahmedabad Municipal Corporation (AMC). The decision was finalized at a high-level meeting chaired by Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel, focused on expanding the scale and global appeal of the festival.
Indigenous Products to Take Center Stage
A key highlight of this year’s festival will be the promotion of indigenous products, in line with Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s call to maximize the use of goods created through the innovation and hard work of India’s youth. Officials agreed that products with both local significance and global appeal will be given special emphasis.
The Chief Minister guided departments to ensure that the festival reinforces its reputation as India’s largest shopping festival, with themed markets and attractions designed to appeal to a diverse audience.
Themed Zones and Expanded Venues
To enhance the visitor experience, Chief Minister Patel suggested the creation of specialized zones, including a wedding destination zone at the GMDC grounds. The idea is to bring together everything shoppers might need—ranging from clothing and jewelry to décor and services—under one roof, making the festival a one-stop destination for every occasion.
Review of Last Year’s Success
A presentation was made on the achievements of the Ahmedabad Shopping Festival 2024, which attracted over 2.5 million visitors. More than 5,112 shops from various brands participated, leading to significant sales for local businesses.
The festival also offered an array of public amenities, including decorative lighting, free bus services to and from venues, designated parking areas, and emergency medical facilities. The Chief Minister directed AMC to further improve facilities for the upcoming edition to accommodate larger crowds and enhance the overall experience.
Senior Officials in Attendance
The high-level meeting was attended by State Minister for Cooperation and Industries Jagdish Vishwakarma, Chief Secretary Pankaj Joshi, Dr. Hasmukh Adhia (Principal Advisor to the CM), Dr. T. Natarajan (Principal Secretary, Finance), Rajiv Topno (GST Commissioner), Thennarasu (Principal Secretary, Urban Development), Avantika Singh (Additional Principal Secretary to the CM), Banchhanidhi Pani (AMC Commissioner), and Dr. Vikrant Pandey (Secretary), among others.
Additional participants included Tourism Secretary Dr. Rajendra Kumar, Commissioner of Cultural Activities Alok Pandey, Director of Municipal Administration Ramya Mohan, and senior officials from concerned departments.
Towards a Bigger, Better Festival
Chief Minister Patel stressed the importance of curating products and events that would attract visitors from across the country and abroad. He emphasized that the festival should project the image of being a place where “everything one needs is available in Ahmedabad.”
With enhanced infrastructure, curated zones, and a renewed focus on indigenous products, this year’s Ahmedabad Shopping Festival is expected to draw even larger crowds and further strengthen its position as a premier cultural and commercial event in India.
