ICDS Directorate Signs Three MoUs with NGOs to Strengthen Early Childhood Care and Education (ECCE) Programme

Jaipur, Oct 2025: The Directorate of Integrated Child Development Services (ICDS) signed three Memorandums of Understanding (MoUs) with non-governmental organizations (NGOs) on Wednesday to strengthen the Early Childhood Care and Education (ECCE) programme being implemented at Anganwadi Centres.

ICDS Director Shri Vasudev Malawat informed that under the Bhamashah Scheme operated by the department, these MoUs have been signed with three NGOs to ensure better implementation and monitoring of services and schemes. Under these MoUs, a comprehensive plan has been prepared to further enhance the ECCE programme for the holistic development of children at Anganwadi Centres run by ICDS.

Director Shri Malawat further stated that, under the Bhamashah Scheme, efforts are being made with individual, institutional, and CSR partnerships to strengthen pre-school activities, capacity building of honorarium workers, and development of basic infrastructure at Anganwadi Centres. This will help improve facilities and enhance service delivery for children.

Providing details of the initiatives under the three MoUs, he said that:

  • Rocket Learning Foundation will send digital ECCE activities to parents of children aged 3 to 6 years and Anganwadi workers through digital media groups, while also providing training on play-based learning and classroom management to Anganwadi workers.
  • In Baran district, the Sesame Workshop India Trust will assist in capacity building of Anganwadi workers under the WASH programme (Water, Sanitation, and Hygiene) and will provide pre-school kits to children at 500 identified Anganwadi Centres in the district.
  • Bal Raksha Bharat (Save the Children) will work in the districts of Rajsamand, Pali, and Jodhpur to develop basic infrastructure at selected Anganwadi Centres, conduct regular ECCE activities, and form mother groups of registered children to work in the areas of health and nutrition.

These collaborations aim to ensure that Anganwadi Centres become vibrant spaces for early learning and child development through strengthened infrastructure, digital innovation, and community participation.
