Mumbai, Oct 2025 : Entrepreneurs from Maharashtra have established a strong presence in global markets through their remarkable efficiency and innovative outlook. To honour their contribution, the State Government will present them with the ‘Maharashtra State Export Awards.’ The awards will be conferred by Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis, Deputy Chief Ministers Eknath Shinde and Ajit Pawar, Industries Minister Uday Samant, and Minister of State for Industries Indranil Naik on Monday, October 13, 2025, at Hotel Taj Lands End, Mumbai.

A total of 67 entrepreneurs have been selected for their outstanding performance in the years 2022–23 and 2023–24. These include 46 Gold Awards, 17 Silver Awards, and 4 Certificates of Appreciation. The awards are categorized under eight segments, including large manufacturing exporters, MSME manufacturers, merchant exporters, recognized export houses, trading houses, regional awards for small-scale manufacturers, state government corporations, and service exporters.

Maharashtra continues to maintain its leading position in India’s exports. In the financial year 2024–25, the state’s exports stood at ₹5.57 lakh crore, accounting for about 15.05% of India’s total exports. The five districts of Pune, Mumbai Suburban, Mumbai City, Thane, and Raigad lead the state’s export performance, together contributing 73% of Maharashtra’s total exports.

Major export destinations from Maharashtra include the United States, UAE, Hong Kong, Belgium, the United Kingdom, China, Saudi Arabia, the Netherlands, Germany, and Mexico. Key export sectors comprise gems and jewellery, engineering goods, electronics and electrical components, chemicals, and textiles.

‘Maharashtra Export Promotion Policy 2023’

To boost exports, the State Government has launched several initiatives under the ‘Maharashtra Export Promotion Policy 2023.’ This policy offers a range of incentives including financial support, infrastructure development, institutional assistance, industrial cluster development, participation in international trade fairs, and logistics chain improvement.

Under the ‘One District, One Product (ODOP)’ initiative, 72 products from 36 districts have been identified to promote exports by micro, small, and medium enterprises (MSMEs) and to help them establish a distinct international identity.

The recognition of outstanding entrepreneurs through these awards is expected to strengthen Maharashtra’s industrial ecosystem and inspire new entrepreneurs to contribute to the state’s economic growth. The Industries Department has also appealed to exporters to participate actively in the upcoming year’s State Export Awards.
