Dy CM Singh Deo visits Union Minister Pralhad Joshi

• Seeks kind intervention regarding the enhancement of procurement target of CMR & extension period of delivery for KMS 2024-25
  

Bhubaneswar, Oct 2025 : During the New delhi visit of Hon’ble Deputy Chief Minister of Odisha Sh Kanak Vardhan Singh Deo, he made a courtesy call to the Hon’ble Union Minister, Consumer Affairs, Food & Public Distribution, New & Renewable Energy Sh Pralhad Joshi. Deputy CM Sh Singh Deo handed him the letter given by the Hon’ble Chief Minister for enhancement of procurement target of Custom Milled Rice under Kharif Marketing Season. Deputy CM again seeks the kind intervention of the Hon’ble Union Minister regarding the issue. It emphasizes the enhancement of procurement target and delivery of Custom Milled Rice under the Kharif Marketing Season 2024-25 in Odisha.

The procurement target fixed by the GoI remains at 50 LMT, but, the actual resultant CMR from the paddy in the state stands 62.54 LMT. Deputy CM urged for an urgent enhancement of the approved target to align with the actual procurement. Also requested for extension of the CMR delivery deadline from 31st October 2025 to 31st December 2025. Asked to issue necessary instructions to FCI to expedite lifting to complete the evacuation of the remaining balance within the extended timeframe. This will help in managing Odisha its storage and distribution.
