Eastern Railway Howrah Division conducts Special Campaign 5.0 at Chandannagar Railway Station.

In line with Indian Railways’ commitment to cleanliness and public participation, Howrah Division conducted an extensive Cleanliness Drive and organised an Amrit Samvaad session at Chandannagar Station on 18th October 2025 under Special Campaign 5.0. The initiative supports the goals of the Swachh Bharat Abhiyan, focusing on providing passengers with clean, hygienic, and pleasant travel experiences. Senior Railway Officials has interacted with passengers, staff, and local stakeholders. The session encouraged feedback on station amenities and cleanliness and highlighted ongoing efforts and upcoming initiatives under Special Campaign 5.0.

Special Campaign 5.0 which was held at Chandannagar Railway Station also signifies the efforts & measures to be implemented by the Railway authorities during the forthcoming Jagadhatri Puja, which is an International Festival. It will commence from 26th October (Panchami) to 31st October (Dasami).

As part of the campaign, a large-scale cleanliness drive was carried out across multiple stations and railway colonies, including Bandel, Azim Ganj, Arambagh, Tarakeswar, Rampurhat, Bolpur, Kamarkundu, Pakur, and others. Colonies in Barddhaman and Bamangachi were also covered. Surrounding areas were cleaned to ensure a complete and lasting impact. At Azim Ganj, water quality was checked using TDS and EC meters to maintain health and hygiene standards.

Railway officers, staff, and housekeeping personnel actively participated in the drive, showcasing teamwork and dedication. The focus areas included deep cleaning of platforms, waiting halls, toilets, drains, circulating areas, and station premises to maintain a high standard of cleanliness throughout the division.

Passengers were urged to join hands with the Railways in maintaining cleanliness and to share suggestions for improvement, strengthening the spirit of cooperation and shared responsibility.

Through Special Campaign 5.0, Howrah Division reaffirms its commitment to creating a cleaner, safer, and more passenger-friendly railway network. The enthusiastic participation of staff and positive response from the public reflect the collective effort towards a sustainable and inclusive railway environment.
