Police Commemoration Day 2025 : Chief Minister pays floral tributes to martyred police personnel

Lucknow, October 2025 : During the Police Commemoration Day ceremony held at the Reserve Police Lines on Monday, Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath paid heartfelt tributes to the martyred police personnel by laying a floral wreath at the Police Martyrs’ Memorial. The Chief Minister honoured three brave police officers from Uttar Pradesh who made the supreme sacrifice in encounters with criminals between September 1, 2024, and August 31, 2025. He also met and felicitated the families of these martyrs.

The fallen heroes included Inspector Sunil Kumar of the STF, Head Constable Durgesh Kumar Singh (Jaunpur), and Constable Saurabh Kumar (Gautam Buddha Nagar). It is due to the courage and sacrifice of such valiant police personnel that the Uttar Pradesh Police has emerged as one of the largest and strongest police forces in the world, overcoming numerous challenges over the years. The Martyrs’ Memorial serves as a reminder of these brave souls who laid down their lives in the line of duty for the safety of the nation. Their sacrifice will continue to inspire future generations.

DSP Abha Pandey embodies ‘Nari Shakti’ as the bearer of the condolence book
The ceremony began with the parade commander presenting the ceremonial salute to the Chief Minister. As a symbol of women’s empowerment, Deputy Superintendent of Police (Intelligence Headquarters) Abha Pandey presented the condolence book to CM Yogi Adityanath. Director General of Police Rajeev Krishna shared details about the lives and indomitable courage of the martyred officers.

Premises filled with patriotic emotions
The condolence book was then placed at the Martyrs’ Memorial. Following this, the Chief Minister, public representatives, and senior police officials offered floral tributes to the martyrs. After the parade commander gave the command for ‘Shok Shastra’ (mourning arms), the entire gathering observed two minutes of silence in honour of the fallen heroes. During the subsequent ‘Salami Shastra’ (arms salute), the whole premises reverberated with deep feelings of patriotism and pride for the nation.
