Chirag Paswan Dismisses Tejashwi’s Promises as “Mungeri Lal’s Dreams,” Says Grand Alliance Has Collapsed
Patna, Oct 2025 : Lok Janshakti Party (LJP) president Chirag Paswan launched a sharp attack on RJD leader Tejashwi Yadav on Wednesday, dismissing his election promises of regularizing contract employees and Jeevika Didis as “Mungeri Lal’s dreams.” Speaking to reporters in Patna, Paswan mocked Yadav’s assurances, saying, “He should first form the government, then think about these promises. The Grand Alliance leaders are busy fighting among themselves — the alliance has completely disintegrated. If Tejashwi still thinks he will come to power, he is dreaming.”
Taking a dig at the Congress, Paswan said, “After a long time, they are talking about holding a joint press conference. Congress election in-charge Ashok Gehlot has come to Patna only after the Mahagathbandhan broke up. Where is Rahul Gandhi, who was earlier misleading people on the Special Intensive Review (SIR)? Isn’t it the moral responsibility of Rahul Gandhi and Tejashwi Yadav to sit together and resolve the seat-sharing issue maturely?”
Highlighting internal disputes within the opposition bloc, Paswan claimed that the Grand Alliance was “completely broken.” He said, “They have fielded candidates against each other in 10 to 12 constituencies. Suppose there are six seats in a district, and they contest only one jointly — how will voters in the other five believe they are united? They neither know how to form nor sustain alliances.” According to Paswan, people in Bihar have now realized that the Grand Alliance cannot be trusted to govern effectively.
Drawing parallels with recent poll results, the LJP chief asserted, “Just as we won in Haryana, similar results will be seen in Bihar. Congress lost there, and the Grand Alliance will face the same fate here.”
Paswan also pointed to leadership confusion within the opposition, saying, “There is an ongoing tussle between Rahul Gandhi and Tejashwi Yadav over who will lead the alliance. In contrast, all NDA partners are united under the leadership of Nitish Kumar. No one in our alliance has objected to his leadership. We have completed seat-sharing, announced candidates, filed nominations, and are now actively campaigning on the ground.”
Defending Nitish Kumar against critics questioning his health, Paswan said, “Those doubting Nitish Kumar’s fitness should see that he is vigorously campaigning across Bihar. Meanwhile, the leaders of the Grand Alliance are nowhere to be seen.”
Earlier, Congress election in-charge and former Rajasthan Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot met RJD chief Lalu Prasad Yadav in Patna, asserting that “all is well” within the Grand Alliance and announcing a joint press conference on Thursday.
