PM Modi slams Bihar’s ‘Lathbandhan’, accuses opposition of promoting chaos and neglecting youth
New Delhi, Oct 2025 : Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Thursday launched a sharp attack on the Grand Alliance (Mahagathbandhan) in Bihar, saying that the people of the state have renamed it the “Lathbandhan” (the stick alliance) because of its violent and self-serving politics.
Addressing BJP workers in Bihar through the “Mera Booth Sabse Mazboot” programme, Modi said that opposition parties in the state were driven by self-interest and cared little about the aspirations of Bihar’s youth.
“Those who call themselves the ‘Gathbandhan,’ whom the people of Bihar call the ‘Lathbandhan,’ only know how to wield sticks and keep fighting,” he said. “For them, their own interests are paramount. They do not care about the youth of Bihar.”
The Prime Minister also targeted the Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD), accusing it of bringing back jungle raj and relying on Maoist terror to influence past elections. “For decades, the youth of Bihar suffered due to Naxalism and Maoist terror. They even kept winning elections with their support,” Modi said, adding that such forces were responsible for the “destruction of Bihar.”
