Advanced Technology to Ensure Effective Sewer Cleaning

‘Clean, Green and Safe Delhi’ is Our Government’s Mission: CM Rekha Gupta

New Delhi, Oct 2025 : Delhi Chief Minister Rekha Gupta has announced that the cleaning of sewer lines in the capital will now be carried out using advanced, state-of-the-art machines. These new mini recycler machines are designed to easily access narrow lanes and streets, efficiently remove sludge from sewer lines, and perform thorough cleaning.

The Chief Minister today inaugurated this new technology-driven machine at Vaishali in the Shalimar Bagh Assembly constituency and informed that the government has procured 16 small recycler machines for deployment across various parts of the capital. She added that her government is working with utmost seriousness towards environmental protection and the modernisation of urban infrastructure.

Addressing the gathering, the Chief Minister explained that these advanced portable machines are equipped with modern technologies such as sewer cleaning, sludge removal, jetting, and suction. Their use will make sewer cleaning operations more effective, hygienic, and environmentally friendly. Sixteen of these machines have already been ordered, and more will be procured as required. These machines will be particularly beneficial in addressing sewer blockage issues that tend to increase during the winter season. The event was attended by local councillors, public representatives, senior officials of the Delhi Government, and a large number of residents.

The Chief Minister noted that the people of Vaishali had long been facing problems related to roads, drains, and sewer systems, and that permanent solutions are now being implemented. She also announced the commencement of modern sewer line construction and wall-to-wall RMC road works in the area, costing ₹2 crore. Once completed, these projects will provide lasting relief to residents from issues such as waterlogging, sewer blockages, and damaged roads.

The Chief Minister further shared that the Delhi Government has recently procured an advanced power maintenance machine capable of carrying out repair work on live power lines without power cuts or disruptions. She reiterated that her government remains firmly committed to environmental conservation and the modernisation of urban infrastructure.

Projects such as the cleaning of the Yamuna River, water treatment initiatives, underground wiring, smart drainage systems, and tree transplantation are progressing rapidly. Delhi today stands at the intersection of technology and environmental balance. With modern machinery, innovative technology, and visionary governance, the Delhi Government is moving swiftly towards achieving the goal of a ‘Clean, Green and Safe Delhi.’
