Official Logo of Delhi to Be Unveiled on Delhi Day

In a special meeting, Chief Minister Rekha Gupta reviewed the shortlisted logo designs
“The logo will symbolize Delhi’s unique identity, culture, and development,” says CM Rekha Gupta

New Delhi, Oct 2025 : Delhi (National Capital Territory of Delhi) will soon have its own official logo, which will be unveiled on November 1, celebrated as Delhi Day (Foundation Day). Chief Minister Rekha Gupta announced that this will be the first-ever official logo of the Delhi Government, representing the capital’s distinct identity in a new symbolic form.

According to the Chief Minister, the logo will reflect Delhi’s modern, transparent, and people-centric governance, while also defining the harmony between the city’s culture and its development.

To select the official logo, CM Rekha Gupta had earlier formed a special committee. A meeting of the committee was held today under her chairmanship. The meeting was attended by PWD and Water Minister Pravesh Sahib Singh, Environment and Industries Minister Manjinder Singh Sirsa, Chief Secretary Rajeev Verma, members of the expert committee, and other senior officials.

During the meeting, the committee reviewed and discussed the shortlisted designs, which highlighted Delhi’s unique identity, glorious history, culture, development, and the aspirations of its people. After detailed deliberations, the final logos were shortlisted. The Chief Minister said that in the next meeting, the official logo of Delhi will be finalized, and it will be formally released on November 1, Delhi Day — becoming the permanent symbol of the national capital.

CM Rekha Gupta also noted that Delhi currently does not have an official logo, unlike most Indian states that already have distinctive symbols representing their identity. She said that as soon as her government took office, it began work on designing and selecting one.

A logo design competition was organized on the MyGov.in portal, inviting entries from across the country. More than 1,800 designs were received. To evaluate and shortlist the submissions, a committee headed by the Secretary of the General Administration Department was formed. The committee reviewed all the entries and selected a few for final consideration.

Expressing her enthusiasm, the Chief Minister said, “It is a privilege for my government to be part of this historic initiative. The logo will establish Delhi’s distinct identity as a new symbol. Our goal is to showcase Delhi as a modern, transparent, and welfare-oriented state, and to build a strong brand that represents democracy, technological progress, and citizen participation. This logo will embody the vibrancy, unity, and progressive spirit of the national capital.”
