Grand Conclusion of Devbhoomi Cultural Festival at Mana Village: Boost to Tourism and Economy in Border Regions

Mana Village witnessed the grand conclusion of the Devbhoomi Cultural Festival 2025, marking a vibrant celebration of culture, tradition, and patriotism in India’s last village on the border. Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami attended the closing ceremony on Sunday, where he said the initiative would give a new impetus to the economy of “vibrant villages” in frontier areas.

The two-day festival, jointly organized by the Indian Army and the Government of Uttarakhand, saw enthusiastic participation from local communities, tourists, and dignitaries. The Chief Minister praised the seamless coordination between the local populace, the Army, and the administration, which ensured the success of the event and contributed significantly to promoting tourism and the local economy in border regions.

CM Dhami also visited various stalls set up by the district administration and the Army, along with the “Know Your Army” exhibition. He said the exhibition would further strengthen the bond of trust and cooperation between the Indian Army and the public. The Chief Minister appreciated the Army’s display of modern equipment, models, and informative exhibits.

School children showcased captivating performances of traditional folk dances and songs, reflecting the rich Garhwali cultural heritage. The Chief Minister felicitated the best-performing students, remarking that such glimpses of Garhwali folk culture represent the true pride of Devbhoomi. Local bands, artisans, and craftsmen also mesmerized the audience with their performances.

Stalls put up by local artisans and self-help groups featured traditional weaving, wooden handicrafts, organic products, regional cuisines, and other heritage items, which received immense appreciation from visitors. CM Dhami stated that this initiative not only aligns with the objectives of the Vibrant Village Programme but also provides new livelihood opportunities for youth and women.

He emphasized that the festival is more than just an entertainment event — it will help promote winter tourism, generate employment, encourage reverse migration, and strengthen the economy of the border areas.

Concluding the ceremony, the Chief Minister offered prayers at the sacred shrine of Shri Badri Vishal, seeking prosperity and well-being for the people of the state and the nation.

The event was attended by District Magistrate Gaurav Kumar, Superintendent of Police Sarvesh Panwar, BKTC Chief Executive Officer Vijay Thapliyal, several public representatives, officers, Army officials, and local residents.
