Chief Minister Chairs High-Level Task Force Meeting On North East Economic Corridor Online

Aizawl, Oct 2025: Chief Minister Pu Lalduhoma chaired an online meeting of the High-Level Task Force on the North East Economic Corridor.

After the Chief Minister’s opening remarks and welcome address, Pu Lalmalsawma Pachuau, Secretary of Planning, presented a detailed report reviewing the follow-up actions taken since the previous meetings of the High-Level Task Force.

The report covered key issues including the development of major connectivity routes between Bangladesh and the North Eastern states, strengthening the India–Myanmar–Thailand trilateral highway, establishing better helicopter connectivity using Guwahati as a central hub for the North Eastern states, improving inland waterways along major rivers such as the Barak and the Brahmaputra, and enhancing rail connectivity across the North East with the use of electric trains to make transport more efficient and affordable.

It also emphasized improving internet services, upgrading border trade infrastructure and logistics, promoting product branding and expanding markets for goods from the North Eastern states, and other crucial developmental initiatives.

The meeting was attended by Pu Jyotiraditya M. Scindia, Minister of Development of North Eastern Region (DoNER), along with Ministers from the member states. The participants agreed that the Final Report of the Task Force would be completed soon.
