Mizoram Government and Mizoram Synod Sign Memorandum of Agreement for Implementation of MUHCS

Aizawl, 2025: Today, under the chairmanship of Health and Family Welfare Minister Pi Lalrinpuii, the Government of Mizoram signed a Memorandum of Agreement (MoA) with the Mizoram Presbyterian Church Synod to include Synod Hospital, Durtlang, and John Williams Hospital, Lunglei, under the Mizoram Universal Health Care Scheme (MUHCS) effective from November 1, 2025.

The MoA was signed on behalf of the Health & Family Welfare Department by Dr. Lalhriatzuali Ralte, CEO of the Mizoram State Healthcare Society, and on behalf of the Mizoram Presbyterian Church Synod by Rev. R.C. Lalnghakliana, Moderator.

Present during the signing were officials from the Health & Family Welfare Department, including Dr. R. Lalchhuanawma, Deputy CEO, Dr. C. Vanlalduhsaka, Medical Officer, and Pu Lalzirtira, Informatics Officer. Representing the Mizoram Presbyterian Church Synod were Rev. VL Luaia Hranleh, Senior Executive Secretary; Rev. Dr. K. Lallawmzuala, Executive Secretary (in-charge of hospitals); Upa Vanlalsawma Siakeng, Senior Secretary; and Rev. B. Zohmangaiha, Junior Synod Secretary.

This collaboration marks an important step toward expanding healthcare access under the Mizoram Universal Health Care Scheme, strengthening the partnership between the state government and faith-based health institutions.
