Plan Meticulously to Increase Per Capita Income – MP Narayan Rane

Sindhudurgnagari, Oct 2025 : Sindhudurg is a tourism-driven district, and comprehensive efforts are needed to boost tourism. To increase the per capita income of the district, the administration must implement inclusive and meticulous planning, urged Member of Parliament Narayan Rane.

He was speaking while reviewing various departmental works at the District Collector’s office. District Collector Trupti Dhodamise, Chief Executive Officer Ravindra Khebuddkar, Superintendent of Police Dr. Mohan Dahikar, Deputy Conservator of Forests Milish Sharma, and heads of various departments were present at the meeting.

MP Rane said the administration should undertake detailed planning to ensure economic stability and generate employment by effectively utilizing the district’s local resources. Departments such as Revenue, Agriculture, Industry, Panchayat, Fisheries, Tourism, and Women & Child Development should implement innovative initiatives for the district’s development, ensuring direct benefits to citizens.

He further stated that a comprehensive study of major local trades, market demand, available resources, and skill development opportunities in villages should be conducted to prepare a concrete plan for youth employment. Combining rural industries, agriculture-related businesses, tourism, fisheries, and micro-enterprises can significantly increase the district’s per capita income.

Encouragement for Agriculture and Allied Activities

The Agriculture Department should focus on boosting farmers’ income by promoting food processing, value addition, organic farming, horticulture development, and cashew processing industries. Crop pattern changes should be planned in a way that enhances production. He emphasized the need to link women’s self-help groups with small industries to accelerate rural entrepreneurship.

These initiatives will help rural women achieve financial independence and strengthen the foundation for the district’s holistic development, he said.
