Commercial LPG Cylinder Prices Cut Across Metros, Offering Relief to Businesses
New Delhi, Nov 2025 : State-run oil marketing companies (OMCs) have announced a reduction in commercial LPG cylinder prices across major metros starting Saturday, offering mild but welcome relief to businesses that rely heavily on cooking gas.
As per the latest revision, the price of a 19-kg commercial LPG cylinder in Delhi has been reduced by ₹5, bringing the new rate down to ₹1,590.50 from ₹1,595.50. Among metros, Kolkata has seen the highest reduction of ₹6.50, with the cylinder now priced at ₹1,694. In Mumbai, the revised price stands at ₹1,542 after a ₹5 cut, while Chennai now charges ₹1,750, down by ₹4.50.
The reductions come as a modest relief for restaurants, bakeries, hotels, catering services, and other small and medium-sized enterprises that depend on LPG for daily operations. The latest price cut follows a ₹15.50 hike implemented in late September, which had added pressure on commercial users.
Despite multiple revisions to commercial LPG prices in recent months, domestic LPG cylinder rates remain unchanged across all cities.
This latest adjustment is part of a series of revisions seen throughout the year. In September, OMCs had slashed commercial LPG prices by ₹51.50, bringing the Delhi price down to ₹1,580 at the time. Before that, a reduction of ₹33.50 was carried out, following a larger decline of ₹58.50 on July 1.
In June, oil companies had also implemented a ₹24 cut, fixing the rate at ₹1,723.50, while in April the price stood at ₹1,762. Earlier, February witnessed a marginal reduction of ₹7, though this was partially offset in March by a ₹6 increase.
Meanwhile, the central government recently announced the distribution of 2.5 million free LPG connections under the Pradhan Mantri Ujjwala Yojana (PMUY) during the festive season, aiming to support low-income households and improve access to clean cooking fuel.
While the latest price reduction is modest, industry observers note that frequent revisions continue to impact business planning, even as OMCs adjust prices in line with global energy trends.
