Raipur, Nov 2025 : The three-day Rajyotsav Silver Jubilee celebrations began today with grandeur at the Acharya Panth Shri Gritamuni Nam Saheb Government Post-Graduate College Ground in Kawardha, headquarters of Kabirdham district, marking 25 years of Chhattisgarh’s statehood. Artists captivated the audience with vibrant presentations of Chhattisgarh’s folk tunes, customs, and traditional dances.
The chief guest, Shri Visheshar Patel, Chairman of the Chhattisgarh Cow Service Commission, formally inaugurated the event by lighting a lamp before the portrait of Chhattisgarh Mahtari. The program was presided over by Shri Suresh Kumar Chandravanshi, Chairman of the Chhattisgarh State Farmer Welfare Council.
Other dignitaries present included District Panchayat Chairman Shri Ishwari Sahu, Municipal Council Chairman Shri Chandra Prakash Chandravanshi, District Panchayat Vice Chairman Shri Kailash Chandravanshi, former Parliamentary Secretary Dr. Siyarama Sahu, District Panchayat Member Shri Ram Kumar Bhatt, Shri Virendra Sahu, Municipal Council Vice Chairman Shri Pawan Jaiswal, Janpad Panchayat Chairperson Smt. Sushma Baghel, and several other public representatives.
In his address, Shri Visheshar Patel congratulated all district residents on completing 25 years of statehood and said it is a moment of pride for all citizens. “We consider Chhattisgarh as our mother. Former Prime Minister Bharat Ratna Atal Bihari Vajpayee honored the sentiments of the people by granting us a separate state, which transformed the direction and pace of development in the entire region. Under former Chief Minister Dr. Raman Singh, the district achieved new heights of growth. His legacy is now being carried forward by Deputy Chief Minister Shri Vijay Sharma, whose efforts have brought a medical college to the district, expanded healthcare facilities, established digital classrooms in schools, and accelerated construction under the PM Awas Yojana. Due to his continuous efforts, the spiritual and cultural significance of Bhoramdeo—Chhattisgarh’s ‘Khajuraho’—is now set to find a place on India’s national tourism map through the Swadesh Darshan scheme.”
Shri Suresh Kumar Chandravanshi, Chairman of the State Farmer Welfare Council, also extended greetings on State Foundation Day. He said that in the past 25 years, alongside the development of basic infrastructure such as roads, education, and health facilities, progressive farmers have significantly contributed to advancing modern agriculture. District Panchayat Vice Chairman Shri Kailash Chandravanshi and former MLA Siyarama Sahu also addressed the gathering.
Collector Shri Gopal Verma, in his welcome speech, highlighted that Chhattisgarh, formed on 1 November 2000, has carved a special place for itself across the country during its successful 25-year development journey.
Students’ Enthusiastic Dance Mesmerizes Audience
The program opened with a folk dance performance by students of Kasturba Residential School titled “Chhattisgarh Darshan – Pramukh Tyohar,” which enhanced the charm of the event. Students joyfully showcased Chhattisgarh’s rich culture, traditions, and diverse festivals through colorful performances. Their melodious music, traditional attire, and energetic dance captivated the entire audience, creating an atmosphere filled with enthusiasm and delight.
“Mayaru Ke Maya” Paints the Stage with Folk Colors
On the first day of Rajyotsav, the stage lit up with the vibrant hues of Chhattisgarh’s folk culture. Shri Dhanidas Manikpuri and his fellow artists delivered a captivating presentation titled “Mayaru Ke Maya.” Their performance “Mai Math Nawaon O Mor Ae Mati Mahtari” beautifully described the glory of Chhattisgarh Mahtari. The group also gave a splendid performance on the Karma song, “Karma ke taal ma, mandar ke thaap ma aa sangi jhoom ke nacho.”
Comedy Jugalbandi Filled the Venue with Laughter
The well-known comedy duo Shri Kaushal Sahu and Shri Anoop Srivastava entertained the audience with their mimicry and comic acts. Their accurate impersonations of famous personalities delighted listeners, filling the venue with continuous laughter.
