‘Bharat Parv’ Celebrates Sardar Patel’s 150th Birth Anniversary; His Patriotism and Resolve Inspire Future Generations: CM Bhajanlal Sharma

Jaipur, Nov 2025 : Chief Minister Bhajanlal Sharma said that Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel unified India from Kashmir to Kanyakumari and from Gujarat to Assam. He not only ensured the geographical integration of the nation but also laid the foundation of a strong administrative system. His sacrifice, patriotism, and unwavering determination will continue to inspire generations to come.
Sharma said that Bharat Parv, celebrated with the spirit of “Ek Bharat, Shreshtha Bharat,” is not just a festival but a celebration of India’s cultural heritage, diversity, and unity.

On Friday, the Chief Minister addressed the Bharat Parv program organized at the Statue of Unity in Kevadia, Narmada district of Gujarat, on the occasion of the 150th birth anniversary of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel. He said that this event, which began in 2016, has now become one of the country’s major cultural festivals. The showcasing of culture, art, cuisine, and handicrafts from various states on a single platform brings Sardar Patel’s vision of “Ek Bharat, Shreshtha Bharat” to life.
He added that the “Dekho Apna Desh” campaign offers people the opportunity to reconnect with their roots, understand Indian culture, and appreciate the nation’s diversity.
Sharma also expressed pride in celebrating the 150th anniversary of Vande Mataram, a song that awakened national consciousness, helped break the chains of colonialism, and strengthened the resolve for self-rule.

Sardar Patel’s Persona Too Vast to Capture in Words

The Chief Minister said that Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel’s personality is so immense that it is difficult to express it in words. Born into a humble family, he rose through hard work, dedication, and strong will to play a defining role in India’s freedom struggle.
He recalled that along with the joy of independence in 1947 came the tragedy of partition, and the country was fragmented into several princely states. At such a challenging time, Sardar Patel—with his political foresight, diplomatic skill, and firm resolve—succeeded in integrating these states into the Indian Union.

Nation’s True Heroes Receiving Due Respect Under PM Modi’s Leadership

Sharma said it was unfortunate that the great leader who unified India was not given due respect for decades. But times have changed—under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, the true nation-builders are receiving the honor they deserve, and the Statue of Unity is a living example of this.
He said the grand statue, symbolizing the nation’s integrity, reflects Patel’s iron will and indomitable spirit. By unveiling this monument, Prime Minister Modi has shown the world that India honors its heroes.

Sharma added that it is the collective responsibility of all citizens to strengthen the India envisioned by Sardar Patel and to remember always that the nation’s diversity is its greatest strength.

The program was also addressed by Gujarat’s Minister for Social Justice and Empowerment, Dr. Pradyumn Vaja. Several patriotic and cultural performances were presented on the occasion.
Statue of Unity CEO Amit Arora, senior officials, and dignitaries were also present.
