CISF Mumbai Airport Felicitates World Cup Star Jemimah Rodrigues in Inspiring Interaction

Mumbai, Nov 2025 : CISF personnel at ASG Mumbai Airport received a memorable morale boost when India’s newly crowned World Cup hero, Jemimah Rodrigues, visited the unit for a special interaction following her stellar performance in the Women’s Cricket World Cup 2025. The event included a warm felicitation, enthusiastic applause from personnel, and a celebratory cake-cutting to honour her match-winning efforts on the world stage.

During the interactive session, Rodrigues spoke candidly about the mental demands of international cricket. She shared valuable insights on handling pressure, staying focused during high-stakes matches, and the importance of teamwork and perseverance. Her message particularly resonated with women personnel, encouraging them to pursue their ambitions in sports and other challenging fields with confidence.

The visit came shortly after Rodrigues was retained by the Delhi Capitals for the 2026 Women’s Premier League. The franchise kept a strong core intact — including Shafali Verma, Marizanne Kapp, Annabel Sutherland, and Niki Prasad — aiming to build on last season’s momentum ahead of the mega-auction.

Rodrigues and Verma were pivotal to India’s triumphant World Cup campaign. Both delivered crucial knocks in the semifinal and final, helping the team clinch the title. Youngster Niki Prasad, who led India to victory in the 2025 Women’s U19 T20 World Cup, impressed in her maiden WPL season, while Kapp and Sutherland added immense value with consistent all-round performances during the global tournament.

Rodrigues’ World Cup heroics were further recognised when she was named in the ICC Team of the Tournament, joining teammates Smriti Mandhana and Deepti Sharma. Her unbeaten 127 in the semifinal — a record-breaking, match-winning innings — eliminated defending champions Australia and propelled India into the final after completing the highest successful chase in Women’s ODI World Cup history.

Her visit to the CISF unit not only celebrated sporting excellence but also reinforced the shared values of discipline, resilience, and national pride — qualities that drive both India’s athletes and its security forces.
