Gautam Adani Says Clean Energy–AI Synergy Will Shape the Century, Aims to Make India a Global Sustainable Intelligence Hub

Ahmedabad, Nov 2025 : Adani Group Chairman Gautam Adani has said that the convergence of clean energy and artificial intelligence (AI) will define the 21st century, adding that India is uniquely positioned to lead this global transformation. He emphasised that the company’s growing partnership with Google will play a pivotal role in making India the world’s most sustainable intelligence hub.

In a post on X, Adani wrote that “our nation stands at the intersection of clean energy and artificial intelligence, the twin forces that will define this century.” He said the Adani-Google collaboration at Visakhapatnam (Vizag) would help build an energy-efficient, AI-driven future anchored in India’s technological capabilities.

Last month, Adani announced that the group is proud to partner with Google to establish India’s largest AI data centre campus in Visakhapatnam. The project, being executed through AdaniConneX — a joint venture between Adani Enterprises and EdgeConneX — marks one of the most significant digital infrastructure commitments in the country.

Calling it a “monumental day for India,” the billionaire industrialist said the campus will be designed specifically to meet the immense power, cooling, and computational demands of modern AI systems. The facility will integrate both Tensor Processing Unit (TPU) and Graphics Processing Unit (GPU)-based compute power essential for deep learning, neural network training, and large-scale AI model deployment.

Adani said the upcoming Vizag AI hub will create a robust ecosystem that accelerates innovation across crucial sectors such as healthcare, agriculture, logistics, and financial services. “We are honoured to be building the engine to power India’s AI revolution, providing the tools for our nation’s brightest minds to solve complex challenges,” he added.

Google’s investment plan for the Visakhapatnam AI hub includes approximately USD 15 billion over five years (2026–2030). The initiative will combine gigawatt-scale data centre operations with a strong clean-energy backbone and an advanced subsea cable network, ensuring sustainable, high-performance computing capabilities for India’s growing AI landscape.

According to Adani, the partnership represents not just technological progress but also India’s commitment to building a carbon-conscious digital infrastructure at a global scale. The project is expected to significantly strengthen India’s ambitions to become a world leader in sustainable, AI-enabled growth.
