Mamit District Level Committee on District Water & Sanitation Mission Meeting

Mamit, Nov 2025: The Mamit District Level Committee on the District Water & Sanitation Mission held a meeting today in the office chamber of the District Deputy Commissioner, Pu Laltlawmlova, who chaired the session.

Er. Helen Saibuangi, Senior Executive Engineer, PHED and Member Secretary of the District Water & Sanitation Mission, delivered a briefing covering key issues such as legal and administrative provisions, protection of water sources, safeguarding the transmission and distribution network, and community vigilance and reporting mechanisms.

She stressed the need for thorough dissemination of information on measures to prevent issues related to drinking water supply and urged Village WATSAN Committees to be properly informed and vigilant in spreading awareness.

She also highlighted matters related to catchment area protection and preventing damage or misuse of water sources. The PHED Department has verified and identified Non-Notified Tree Forest Areas, which will be submitted to the District Level Committee. The committee was also advised to review and take necessary steps before issuing any further directives.

Committee members participated in the meeting, and it was emphasized that the committee should continue to plan activities in alignment with the initiatives undertaken by the PHED Department.
