Maharashtra’s Significant Contribution to the Vision of ‘Viksit Bharat @2047’ – Union Minister Piyush
New Delhi, Nov 2025 : Union Minister of Commerce and Industry, Piyush Goyal, visited the Maharashtra Pavilion at the 44th India International Trade Fair currently underway at Pragati Maidan, New Delhi. During his visit, he praised Maharashtra’s inclusive and steadily progressing development model and stated that the state’s contribution to the national vision of ‘Viksit Bharat @2047’ is extremely important and inspiring.
Union Minister Goyal visited every section of the Maharashtra Pavilion and interacted directly with artisans, women entrepreneurs from self-help groups, and young entrepreneurs. He especially appreciated the Paithani sarees, Kolhapuri chappals, Warli paintings, hand-painted leather products, freshly prepared traditional foods by rural women, organic products, and the “Marathi Language Pavilion.” On this occasion, Ujjwal Sawant and Priyadarshani Sonar from the Maitri Cell of the Industries Department briefed him about the initiative.
After the visit, Piyush Goyal said, “The Maharashtra Pavilion is a perfect blend of ancient traditions and modern industrial capability. It showcases the entrepreneurship of rural women, traditional craftsmanship, and innovative ideas emerging from startups. This pavilion not only reflects Maharashtra’s holistic progress but also serves as an ideal model for other states.”
He added that due to the Government of India’s policies, local products are now reaching national and international markets. With the strong efforts of the Maharashtra Government and the active contribution of the industry and trade sectors, the dream of ‘Viksit Bharat @2047’ is steadily becoming a reality.
On behalf of the Maharashtra Small Scale Industries Development Corporation, Company Secretary Akshay Pathak welcomed Minister Goyal. Officials including Bangalkar and Koturkar were also present. They provided detailed information about the pavilion’s concept, objectives, participating districts and departments, and overall design.
