Telangana CM Revanth Reddy Unveils Vision to Turn Kodangal into an International Education and Industrial Hub
Hyderabad, Nov 2025 : Telangana Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy on Monday announced an ambitious plan to transform Kodangal into an international education hub and a model constituency, comparable to Noida’s rapid economic and infrastructural growth. Addressing a large public gathering after launching multiple development projects in his home constituency of Kodangal in Vikarabad district, the Chief Minister said his government is committed to reshaping the town into a high-quality educational, industrial, and socio-economic centre.
Revanth Reddy stated that Kodangal would soon emerge as a major education destination, attracting students from across Telangana. As part of this mission, the state government will establish a wide network of institutions—including medical, veterinary, agricultural, paramedical, nursing, and engineering colleges. In addition, the constituency will see the development of integrated residential schools, junior and degree colleges, and even a military school, ensuring access to diverse and high-standard learning opportunities.
Emphasising that quality education is the most powerful tool to improve lives, the Chief Minister highlighted several welfare measures already implemented. He noted that the government is providing breakfast to nearly 28,000 students across 312 government schools in the Kodangal Assembly segment. “We are ensuring that no child goes to school on an empty stomach. With centralised kitchens supplying nutritious mid-day meals, our government is caring for students like a mother, prioritising their health and well-being,” he said.
Revanth Reddy reiterated that education, irrigation, and women’s empowerment remain the top three priorities of the “people’s government”. He added that economic progress is sustainable only when women enjoy dignity, security, and equal opportunity. Citing new initiatives, he said that schemes such as free RTC bus travel, fine rice distribution, and cooking gas cylinders at Rs 500 have eased household burdens and uplifted women across the state. The government has also given women’s groups the responsibility to establish solar power plants—allowing them to compete with leading industrial players.
Turning to irrigation, the Chief Minister announced that farmers have voluntarily offered land for the Kodangal Lift Irrigation Project, which will be completed within three years. Once operational, the scheme will provide major irrigation benefits to the region. He also said the long-delayed railway line to Kodangal will finally become a reality, with construction scheduled to begin within nine months—fulfilling a 70-year-old aspiration of local residents.
The government also plans to transform the Lagacherla industrial zone into an international-standard industrial hub. In addition, cement industries will soon be established in the constituency, creating new employment opportunities and boosting the local economy.
Reaffirming that “Indiramma Rajyam” will continue in Telangana for the next decade, Revanth Reddy appealed to people—particularly women—to support progressive candidates in the upcoming local body elections to accelerate Kodangal’s comprehensive development.
