Chhindwara Sewerage Project Completed with World Bank Support at a Cost of ₹237 Crore

The Madhya Pradesh Urban Development Company, an undertaking of the Urban Development and Housing Department, has completed the Chhindwara Sewerage Project with support from the World Bank. The total project cost is ₹237 crore, which also includes operation and maintenance expenses for 10 years.

Under the project, a 28 MLD (million litres per day) sewage treatment plant has been installed in the city, along with a 271-kilometre sewerage network. More than 200,000 residents of Chhindwara are benefiting from this facility. Using modern technology, treated wastewater from the plant is being reused for irrigation and other purposes. The commissioning of this sewerage plant has significantly improved urban cleanliness and prevented untreated sewage from flowing directly into rivers, thereby enhancing environmental protection in and around the city.

Aadhaar-Based Attendance Training Workshop Held

A one-day training workshop on the Aadhaar-based attendance system was organised at the headquarters of the Madhya Pradesh Urban Development Company. Officials and employees working in the company were trained in the technical processes of the Aadhaar-based attendance system. With the implementation of this system, transparency in working practices has increased, along with improved governance.

The primary objective of the training was to familiarise officers and staff with the latest digital verification technology and strengthen their efficiency. During the session, the doubts and queries of participating employees were also addressed.
