Putin Briefed on Russian Advances in Donetsk, Kharkov, and Zaporizhzhia Regions
Moscow, Dec 2025 : Russian President Vladimir Putin was briefed Monday on recent military developments, including the capture of Krasnoarmeysk in the Donetsk region and Volchansk in the Kharkov region, the Kremlin confirmed.
According to a statement, Putin received updates from Chief of the General Staff of the Russian Armed Forces Valery Gerasimov, Commander of the Centre Force Valery Solodchuk, and Commander of the East Force Andrei Ivanayev. Gerasimov reported the capture of Krasnoarmeysk and Volchansk and provided details on the outcomes of offensive operations in other sectors.
Solodchuk briefed the president on the elimination of Ukrainian forces encircled near the Krasnoarmeysk-Dimitrov agglomeration. He highlighted that the southern part of Dimitrov has now come under Russian control.
Ivanayev focused on operations in the Zaporizhzhia and Dnepropetrovsk regions. He noted that Russian forces have reached the Gaichur River and that units of the 5th Combined Arms Army have begun an operation to capture Gulyaipole in Zaporizhzhia.
Following the briefings, President Putin expressed gratitude to all commanders and personnel for their effectiveness in the field. He emphasized the importance of ensuring troops are adequately supplied and prepared to continue operations during the approaching winter months.
Later on Monday, the Russian Ministry of Defence released video footage from Krasnoarmeysk showing Russian servicemen raising the national flag in the city’s central square, symbolizing its capture.
The developments mark a significant stage in Russia’s ongoing military campaign in eastern and southern Ukraine, with operations continuing across multiple fronts amid challenging winter conditions.
