Government Support for Construction of Sub-Market Trading Complex – DCM Fadnavis
Satara : The Satara Taluka Agricultural Produce Market Committee is constructing a grand sub-market trading complex named after the esteemed Chhatrapati Abhaysinharaje Bhosale. The complex, which spans 15 acres, is being built at a cost of ₹130 crore. This facility will cater to the needs of farmers, traders, porters, and consumers alike. Deputy Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis assured that the government would provide assistance in the construction of this complex.
The foundation stone for the Shrimant Chhatrapati Abhaysinharaje Bhosale Sub-Market Trading Complex at Khindwadi, Satara, was laid by Deputy Chief Minister Fadnavis. During the event, he emphasized the importance of this project. The event was attended by several dignitaries, including MLA Shrimant Chhatrapati Shivendrasinhraje Bhosale, District Collector Jitendra Dudi, Chief Executive Officer Yashni Nagarajan, Superintendent of Police Sameer Sheikh, District Registrar Manohar Mali, and District Superintendent Agriculture Officer Bhagyashree Farande.
Mr. Fadnavis expressed his happiness at the establishment of the sub-market complex, which fulfills the vision of Chhatrapati Abhaysinharaje Bhosale. He noted that the complex would provide a better marketplace and facilities for farmers and traders, ultimately leading to better prices for the farmers’ produce. He also highlighted the importance of Satara district, known for its hardworking farmers and diverse crop production, including fruit crops, which are supplied not only within Maharashtra but across the country.
The upcoming market complex will feature separate buildings for farmers, traders, and porters, along with all necessary facilities for storing agricultural goods. This will make it a modern sub-market committee, Deputy Chief Minister Fadnavis noted.
In his introductory speech, MLA Bhosale shared that the trading complex will be developed following a five-star system and will cover 15 acres. The complex will offer convenience facilities for farmers, traders, and consumers. The current market committee in Satara city often causes traffic congestion, but the new vegetable and fruit market to be established here will alleviate this issue. Since the sub-market complex is located along the highway, it will facilitate the smooth transportation of farmers’ goods. Moreover, the construction of this complex is expected to contribute to the economic development of both the farmers and the city.
The event saw a large turnout of officials from the Satara Taluka Agricultural Produce Market Committee, representatives of various organizations, and local farmers.
