Second Governing Body Meeting of GRIT Concludes in Gandhinagar under the Chairmanship of the Chief Minister

Dec 2025 : The Chief Minister emphasized the availability of daily work data in GRIT and urged coordination for its effective implementation in focus areas. He noted that within just 15 months of its establishment, GRIT has emerged as a future-oriented think tank for the state with a young and enthusiastic team.

Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel, chairing the second Governing Body meeting of the Gujarat State Institution for Transformation (GRIT), stated clearly that GRIT will play a crucial role in realizing the roadmaps for Developed Gujarat @2047 and Gujarat @2035.

He highlighted that GRIT now has access to daily operational data from various departments and schemes. This data will be vital for accelerating work and ensuring effective implementation, helping identify which departments require more focus for the Developed Gujarat initiatives.

GRIT was established as a think tank to provide guidance for future-oriented development planning and achieving the goals of Developed Gujarat @2047. The second Governing Body meeting was held in Gandhinagar.

Before the meeting, the Chief Minister, in the presence of Deputy Chief Minister Harsh Sanghvi, Finance Minister Kanubhai Desai, Agriculture Minister Jitu Vaghani, and Education Minister Dr. Pradyuman Vaja, inaugurated the Developed Gujarat Strategy Room at GRIT’s office.

The Strategy Room will carry out multiple activities, including analysis of progress, evaluation of scheme implementation, and tracking of key performance indicators (KPIs) to achieve the targets of Developed Gujarat @2047. The Chief Minister and Ministers also reviewed the digital dashboard, library, podcast area, and research and analytical activities available in the Strategy Room.

The Chief Minister also released the District Domestic Product Estimates prepared by the Planning Department. This initiative will facilitate effective local development planning and inclusive, sustainable district-level development for policymakers.

GRIT CEO S. Aparna presented a detailed report on the institution’s creation, activities undertaken in 2025, recommendations for effective implementation of development work, and plans for 2026. She outlined preparations for achieving a $4 trillion economy and generating 28 million new jobs by 2047 through a Regional Economic Master Plan.

She also provided comprehensive details on reviews, policy papers, studies, and workshops on education, fisheries, post-harvest management, blue sky policy, green manufacturing, spatial computing, and three implementation review reports of task force committees. GRIT has also contributed to preparing the State Agenda for Gujarat@2035 on the 75th anniversary of the state’s formation.

Chief Minister Patel praised the young and dynamic team for establishing GRIT as a forward-looking think tank within 15 months of its creation.

Deputy Chief Minister Harsh Sanghvi suggested integrating GRIT’s data so that departments can use it for preparing upcoming budgets.

The Governing Body unanimously endorsed the Chief Minister’s commitment to further strengthen GRIT as a premier institute for forward-looking policy research, innovation, and transformational governance.

Senior officials, including Chief Secretary M.K. Das, Chief Minister’s Principal Advisor Dr. Hasmukh Adhia, Senior Secretary of Finance Rajiv Topno, Chief Minister’s Secretary Dr. Vikrant Pandey, and Planning Secretary Adra Agrawal, also attended the meeting.
