“RSS Condemns Violence in Bangladesh: Calls for Immediate Action and Global Solidarity”

The Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) voiced serious concern on Friday regarding the recent unrest in Bangladesh, condemning the attacks on minority communities as “intolerable.”

RSS General Secretary Dattatreya Hosabale issued a statement expressing alarm over the violence against Hindus, Buddhists, and other minorities during the recent regime change movement in Bangladesh.

Hosabale stated, “The RSS is deeply concerned about the targeted killings, looting, arson, and heinous crimes against women from Hindu and other religious minorities, as well as attacks on Hindu temples in Bangladesh. Such cruelty is unacceptable and must be condemned in the strongest terms.”

He urged the interim Government of Bangladesh to take “strict action to immediately halt these incidents” and to ensure the safety, property, and dignity of the victims are protected.

“The RSS calls on the international community and all political parties in India to stand in solidarity with persecuted communities, including Hindus and Buddhists, during this critical time,” Hosabale added. He also highlighted India’s efforts to support Bangladesh as a friendly neighbor, emphasizing the need for the Indian government to continue advocating for the safety of minorities in Bangladesh.

Reports indicate that Hindus in Bangladesh have faced attacks, with homes and businesses destroyed and some individuals killed. Nahid Islam, a student movement leader and advisor to the interim government, confirmed these attacks, attributing them to those seeking to undermine the student movement.

Rana Dasgupta, a leader of the Hindu-Bouddha-Christian Oikya Parishad, reported that approximately 100 Hindus have been injured and two killed. He noted that anti-Hindu violence occurred at 97 locations over Monday and Tuesday, with at least 10 temples attacked.
