Tragedy in Manipur: Four Kuki-Zo Villagers Killed in Tengnoupal District

Four individuals, including three Kuki-Zo village volunteers and one member of the United Kuki Liberation Front (UKLF), were killed in a suspected gunfight early Friday. The incident, which occurred around 8 a.m., happened at two separate locations—Molnoi Pallel and Molnom—approximately 1.5 kilometers apart in the Pallel area of Tengnoupal district, Manipur.

In what appears to be a retaliatory action, members of the Village Volunteer Force (VVF) set fire to the house of SS Haokip, the leader of the UKLF, in Pallel. The house was engulfed in flames, sending heavy smoke rising into the sky. Security forces have since cordoned off the area.
