Kolkata Metro Railways Honoured To Host The High Commissioner Of Canada Along The East West Corridor.

Kolkata; December 2025: His Excellency Mr. Chris Cooter, High Commissioner of Canada in India has travelled in East-West Metro under the river Hooghly today – 11.12.2025. He along with his team of officials of the Canada High Commission accompanied by MD, KMRCL and other officials travelled up to Howrah station from New Esplanade station.

Mr. Anuj Mittal, MD of Kolkata Metro Rail Corporation Ltd. (KMRCL), and Principal Chief Engineer of Metro Railway, and Mr. Satyaki Nath, Principal Chief Operations Manager, Metro Railway and other officials of Metro Railway and KMRCL accompanied during this visit of his Excellency.

His Excellency Mr. Chris Cooter was visibly pleased seeing the arrangements of underwater Metro. Officers of Metro Railway and KMRCL briefed him about the East-West Metro construction methods like tunnel boring alongside the engineering challenges they had faced during the execution of this never before underwater Metro project in India.
