Eastern Railways Sealdah Division Augments Digital Ticketing; Appointing Contractors At Halt Stations.

Sealdah; December 2025: Eastern Railway, Sealdah Division has taken a significant leap towards digital transformation, successfully rolling out a digitised ticketing system at 02 major halt stations, Sir Gurudas Banerjee Halt in the Bidhan Nagar Road – Ballygunge Loop Line, and Pirtala Halt in the Krishnanagar – Lalgola Section.

This milestone is a direct execution of the General Manager Mr. Milind K Deouskar’ s vision to modernise operations and enhance passenger services.

This initiative began with a first meeting between the Senior Divisional Commercial Manager, Sealdah, Mr. Jasram Meena and halt contractors of Sealdah Division, where the General Manager’s vision for digitalisation was mutually agreed upon. This new step toward digitalisation is now officially in the execution phase, aiming to eliminate perennial issues associated with manual ticketing, ensuring greater speed, accuracy, and transparency for passengers.

Division is providing Printers to the halt contractors, equipping them with the necessary hardware to facilitate the digital process. In a display of commitment halt contractors have independently purchased Printers to issue printed digital tickets. This system is expected to significantly mitigate all previous problems related to ticket issuance, ticket at your doorstep, offering passengers a seamless and efficient experience.

DRM Sealdah Mr. Rajeev Saxena stated, this successful implementation at Gurudas Banerjee Halt and Pirtala Halt marks a momentous first step into the digital world for our halt operations. The collaborative effort, initiated through our first-ever strategic meeting with halt contractors, is executing the General Manager’s digitalized vision and ultimately improving the travel experience for thousands of commuters. Sealdah Division plans to expand this modernised ticketing system to other halt stations in a phased manner, furthering its commitment to digital excellence and ‘Ease of Travel’ for all passengers.
