Chief Secretary Orders Faster Recruitment in Agriculture Universities

Jaipur, December 2025 — Chief Secretary V. Srinivas has directed that vacancies in all state agriculture universities be filled quickly and strictly as per rules. He said agriculture universities play a crucial role in expanding and improving the quality of agricultural education, and for this, adequate teaching and non-teaching staff is essential. He instructed officials to speed up the recruitment process, follow the SOPs, and examine common eligibility criteria, syllabus, and examination points for all universities. ICAR Director General Dr. M.L. Jat also joined the meeting via VC from Delhi.

On Friday evening, the Chief Secretary reviewed the recruitment process in a virtual meeting with senior officials of the Agriculture Department and Vice-Chancellors of all agriculture universities in Rajasthan. He directed strict compliance with procedural requirements, legal aspects, and circulars issued from time to time by ICAR and the Personnel Department. He also reviewed total sanctioned posts, vacant posts, recruitment advertisements, current status, and legal issues in all universities.

It is noteworthy that agriculture universities play a major role in implementing the innovative initiatives and efforts of Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Chief Minister Bhajanlal Sharma for the welfare of farmers and the agriculture sector. The aim is to expand agricultural education and ensure that laboratory knowledge reaches the fields quickly—helping determine local seed varieties, fertilizer selection based on soil testing, and water-efficient irrigation methods for better results.

The meeting was attended by Principal Secretary of Agriculture Manju Rajpal, Agriculture Commissioner Chinmay Gopal, and Horticulture Commissioner Shubham Choudhary.
