CM Launches “Mukhyamantri Samruddha Panchayatraj Abhiyan” to Drive Village Prosperity
Nagpur, Dec 2025 – Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis expressed confidence that the newly relaunched “Mukhyamantri Samruddha Panchayatraj Abhiyan” will guide villages towards prosperity, after recent floods had temporarily slowed the campaign’s implementation.
The title song of the campaign was launched at the Cabinet Hall in the Vidhan Bhavan. Through a virtual system, Sarpanches, Gram Vikas Officers, Group Development Officers, and Chief Executive Officers participated, receiving guidance directly from CM Fadnavis. Minister of Rural Development and Panchayati Raj, Jaykumar Gore, was also present.
CM Fadnavis said that over the past decade, the success of any campaign has relied heavily on public participation. No initiative can succeed without citizen engagement. The “Jalyukt Shivar” campaign is a prime example, which enhanced water literacy and helped Maharashtra become water-rich, emerging as a role model nationwide. Other successful initiatives include the NREGA 11-Point Program and the “Magel Tyala Shet Talay” campaign.
The Chief Minister emphasized that the “Mukhyamantri Samruddha Panchayatraj Abhiyan” aims at holistic village development. The campaign will encourage active public participation, make Gram Panchayats digital and self-sufficient, and promote environmentally sustainable growth. Local artists will support Gram Sabhas in this initiative.
Fadnavis highlighted that the campaign will foster healthy competition among villages, encouraging Gram Panchayats to actively participate and achieve the best results.
Rural Development and Panchayati Raj Minister Jaykumar Gore explained the campaign’s background, while Principal Secretary of the Rural Development Department, Eknath Dawale, expressed gratitude to attendees. The event also included actors Bharat Ganeshpure, Sandeep Pathak, Prithvik Pratap, and actress Shivali Parab, along with departmental officials.
About the Campaign:
The “Mukhyamantri Samruddha Panchayatraj Abhiyan” is designed to create a competitive framework at four levels – Taluka, District, Revenue, and State – to effectively implement central and state government schemes through local self-governance bodies, i.e., Gram Panchayats, Panchayat Samitis, and Zilla Parishads.
Key objectives include strengthening Gram Panchayats to be efficient, well-governed, water-rich, clean, and green, aligning with MGNREGA and other schemes, promoting livelihood development and social justice, and fostering people’s participation through community mobilization and voluntary labor. Awards will be distributed at various levels to recognize excellence and enhance Panchayati Raj efficiency.
