Mizoram Tourism Minister Meets Assam Tourism Minister

December 2025 : Pu Lalnghinglova Hmar, Tourism Minister of Mizoram, met Assam Tourism Minister Pu Ranjeet Kumar Dass in Guwahati today to discuss collaboration in the tourism sector and explore opportunities for joint initiatives in the coming year.

During the meeting, Minister Hmar highlighted the growing interest of tourists in Mizoram and expressed his desire to enhance tourism cooperation between Mizoram and Assam. He noted that due to the natural connectivity and increasing tourist movement between the two states, there is significant potential to develop tourism jointly, which the Assam Tourism Minister appreciated during official discussions.

Assam Tourism Minister Ranjeet Kumar Dass said, “Mizoram may be a smaller state, but this year it has emerged as an important partner. Many tourists from Assam have visited Mizoram, and this trend is encouraging for further collaboration.”

Minister Hmar added, “All Indian states have unique attractions, and tourists are increasingly seeking new destinations. Mizoram, being a promising partner, can work with Assam to create meaningful tourism experiences that attract more visitors and benefit both states.”

The Mizoram Tourism Minister also proposed sharing promotional materials, including brochures and videos, to highlight Mizoram’s tourism potential in Assam. These initiatives aim to strengthen visibility and attract more tourists to the region.

The meeting was attended by Kumar Padmapani Bora (IRS), Managing Director of Assam Tourism Development Corporation (ATDC), who discussed organizing workshops in Guwahati for Mizoram tour operators. These workshops would help local tourism stakeholders better understand market opportunities and enhance collaboration between Mizoram and ATDC for future tourism initiatives.

This meeting marks a significant step toward regional tourism cooperation, strengthening ties between Mizoram and Assam while promoting mutual growth in the tourism sector.
