ART & CULTURE DEPARTMENT ORGANIZES ‘TIRANGA YATRA’ IN AIZAWL
Aizawl : In celebration of India’s independence and the ‘Har Ghar Tiranga’ initiative, the Art & Culture Department organized a ‘Tiranga Yatra’ today in Chanmari and Sikulpuikawn areas. During the event, around 800 students waved Indian flags, marking the occasion with pride. At Vanapa Hall, Deputy Commissioner Er. Lalhriatpuia led the ‘Har Ghar Tiranga Pledge’ ceremony.
Er. Lalhriatpuia emphasized that the ‘Tiranga Yatra’ represents not only national pride but also a commitment to unity and patriotism. He highlighted the importance of the event in fostering a sense of national pride and communal harmony.
The ‘Tiranga Yatra’ in Aizawl saw participation from students of Govt. Mamawii Higher Secondary School, Govt. JL Higher Secondary School, and Govt. Central Higher Secondary School. Pi Zonunthari, Joint Secretary of the Art & Culture Department, led the event in Sikulpuikawn. In Chanmari, Pi Carol VLMS Dawngkimi, Director of the Art & Culture Department, oversaw the event for Govt. Chaltlang Higher Secondary School and Govt. Mizo Higher Secondary School students.
The ‘Har Ghar Tiranga’ program will continue until August 15. On that day, a ‘Tiranga Concert’ will be held at Vanapa Hall to further celebrate the occasion.
