“Millionaire Didi” Initiative Empowers Women Across Rajasthan – CM Bhajanlal Sharma
State-Level ‘Lakhpati Didi’ Dialogue Program: Lakhpati Didis Leading Rajasthan’s Emerging Picture; Rajeevika Driving Social and Economic Change – CM distributes tablets to participants
December 2025, Jaipur : Chief Minister Bhajanlal Sharma said that Lakhpati Didis represent the emerging face of a progressive Rajasthan. The Prime Minister’s vision to empower, educate, and make women self-reliant is being fulfilled through the Lakhpati Didi scheme, and the state’s Lakhpati Didis are now moving towards becoming “Millionaire Didis.”
Addressing the state-level Lakhpati Didi dialogue program at Harishchandra Mathur Rajasthan Institute of Public Administration (OTS), the Chief Minister said that Rajeevika has become a powerful medium for women’s empowerment, self-reliance, and socio-economic transformation in villages. The government’s commitment is to ensure “skill in every hand, employment in every home,” with Rajeevika serving as the strongest medium to achieve this goal.
Success Stories:
CM Sharma highlighted inspiring stories of women who turned challenges into success. Sushila Devi from Fagi, Jaipur, revived traditional blue pottery, reaching national and international buyers through tribal fairs. Sarita Kanwar started a tailoring business under Rajeevika, gradually establishing a home-based industry. Aruna Sharma from Karauli trained in bakery skills, developed new products, and now sells them across districts and states. These stories symbolize women’s empowerment and revitalization of the rural economy.
Empowering Half the Population:
The CM emphasized that under Prime Minister Narendra Modi, women are receiving their rightful place in society. Initiatives like Ujjwala Yojana, PM Awas Yojana, and Swachh Bharat Mission have enhanced women’s dignity. The 33% reservation in Parliament and State Assemblies under the Nari Shakti Vandan Act further strengthens their representation.
Achievements of Lakhpati Didi Scheme:
- Over 12 lakh women trained and empowered as Lakhpati Didis across Rajasthan.
- Lado Prerna Yojana provides ₹1.5 lakh for girls’ education and development.
- 10.51 lakh bicycles and ~40,000 scooters distributed to promote girl child education.
- Women’s welfare initiatives, including increased maternity benefits, free sonography, and formation of 500 Kalika Patrolling Units and 65 Anti-Romeo Squads, have reduced crimes against women by ~12% in 2023.
CM Sharma urged Lakhpati Didis to adopt innovations, engage their groups in discussions, and involve more women in this journey toward self-reliance. He distributed tablets to outstanding participants to connect them digitally for better branding, e-commerce, and digital transactions.
Deputy CM Diya Kumari noted that under PM Modi, women have become economically strong and are playing decisive roles beyond household boundaries—a historic achievement in women’s empowerment. Rural Development Minister Dr. Kirodi Lal emphasized government efforts to empower rural women and strengthen the rural economy.
Chief Secretary V. Srinivas, Additional Chief Secretary Rural Development Shreya Guha, and numerous Rajeevika-affiliated women were present at the program.
