Madai 2025: Joyful Moments for Participants at the Cultural Confluence — Grand Conclusion of the Four-Day Youth Festival

Raipur Overall Champion; Ambikapur Secures Runner-up Position

Raipur, December 2025: The four-day inter-collegiate cultural youth festival Madai 2025, hosted at Indira Gandhi Agricultural University, Raipur, concluded with a colourful award distribution ceremony. The closing event was held under the chief guestship of Prof. (Dr.) Lovely Sharma, Vice-Chancellor of Indira Kala Sangeet University, Khairagarh, and was presided over by Dr. Girish Chandel, Vice-Chancellor of Indira Gandhi Agricultural University.

Winning college teams and individual students from various competitions were honoured by the dignitaries. Agricultural College, Raipur was declared the Overall Champion of Madai 2025, while Agricultural College, Ambikapur emerged as the Overall Runner-up.

In the tableaux presented during the procession, Agricultural College, Rajnandgaon secured first place, followed by Agricultural College, Kanker in second place. In the music competitions, Rajnandgaon emerged as the winner, with Agricultural Engineering College, Raipur as the runner-up. Similarly, in the dance competition, Agricultural College, Raipur won first place, while Agricultural College, Kanker secured the runner-up position. On this occasion, judges of various competitions, team managers, and chairpersons and members of different organising committees were also felicitated.

Addressing the gathering, chief guest Prof. (Dr.) Lovely Sharma said that Madai 2025 was a four-day cultural confluence that provided moments of joy and celebration for all participants. On the occasion, he also rendered a melodious Ganesh Vandana.

Presiding over the ceremony, Vice-Chancellor Dr. Girish Chandel said that students had presented an outstanding display of Chhattisgarh’s tribal art forms. He described such cultural performances as golden moments of student life that remain cherished memories forever. He emphasised that the festival was not limited to winning or losing, but served as a valuable platform for showcasing talent, personality development, and learning teamwork.

Dr. Sanjay Sharma, Dean of Student Welfare, stated that the primary objective of the cultural festival was to nurture students’ creativity and expressive abilities. He added that art and agriculture complement each other, as most festivals are fundamentally linked to agriculture. He also shared details of the programmes and activities organised over the four days of Madai 2025.

At the conclusion, Organising Secretary Dr. Sunil Nag expressed gratitude to the guests and thanked everyone involved for the successful conduct of the festival.
