Complete Cashew Export Process from Jaigad Port at the Earliest: Minister Nitesh Rane
Mumbai, Dec 2025 : Fisheries and Ports Minister Nitesh Rane has directed officials to expedite the process for exporting cashews and other agricultural products through Jaigad Port in Ratnagiri district. He issued these instructions while speaking at a meeting held at the Mantralaya.
The meeting was attended by P. Pradeep, Chief Executive Officer of the Maharashtra Maritime Board, Kishor Tawde, Fisheries Commissioner, Parshuram Patil, advisor to MITRA, along with representatives of the JSW Group.
Assuring that all necessary support would be provided by the concerned departments to initiate the export process, Minister Rane said that completing these procedures is essential to ensure that products from the Konkan region can be exported quickly and smoothly. He added that work on the Kolhapur–Vaibhavwadi railway line, which will improve connectivity to the port, is being taken up at a fast pace.
The minister also instructed that the product testing laboratory should be made operational by January 15. To ensure that cashews are exported through Jaigad Port during the current season, he asked all concerned agencies to complete preparations promptly. He further directed that workshops should be organized to create awareness among producers about the export process.
