Final Electoral Roll Published for Hnahthial South-II VC By-Election

Hnahthial : Today, at the Hnahthial DC Meeting Hall, District Election Officer and Deputy Commissioner of Hnahthial, Ms. Rita Lalnunmawii Pachuau, officially published the Final Electoral Roll for the upcoming Village Council Member by-election in Hnahthial South-II.

Ms. Pachuau expressed satisfaction with the thorough verification process that led to the finalization of the electoral roll. She emphasized the importance of maintaining an accurate electoral roll to ensure fair and transparent elections. She also mentioned the hope that the upcoming election will be conducted smoothly and efficiently.

Following this, Assistant Electoral Registration Officer (AERO) Ms. Betty Lalrinfeli provided further details on the finalized electoral roll and the necessary corrections made.

The draft electoral roll for this by-election was initially published on July 24, 2024, with 420 male and 461 female registered voters, totaling 881. After addressing objections and corrections, the final roll has been updated.

As per the newly published final electoral roll, the Hnahthial South-II constituency now has 420 male and 455 female voters, bringing the total to 875 registered voters.

The upcoming by-election in Hnahthial South-II has been necessitated due to the resignation of a Village Council Member. The date for the election has yet to be announced.
