Chief Minister Vishnudev Sai Meets President Droupadi Murmu, Invites Her to ‘Bastar Pandum 2026’

Raipur, January 2026 – Chhattisgarh Chief Minister Shri Vishnudev Sai met President Smt. Droupadi Murmu today in New Delhi in a courtesy visit. During the meeting, Chief Minister Sai extended an invitation to President Murmu to grace the state-level tribal cultural festival ‘Bastar Pandum 2026’ as the Chief Guest.

The Chief Minister highlighted the rich tribal art, culture, traditions, and folk life of the Bastar region, explaining that Bastar Pandum is a significant initiative to preserve, promote, and showcase the state’s tribal heritage at both national and international levels. The festival will be organized in three phases, with the concluding phase scheduled to take place in Bastar in February 2026.

During the meeting, Chief Minister Sai also apprised the President of the progress made by the Chhattisgarh government in the comprehensive development of tribal areas, including initiatives in education, health, livelihood, infrastructure expansion, and welfare schemes. He emphasized that the state government is continuously working to integrate tribal communities into the mainstream of development while preserving their unique cultural identity.

President Smt. Droupadi Murmu appreciated the initiative connected with tribal culture and conveyed her best wishes for the successful organization of Bastar Pandum 2026.

It is noteworthy that the festival will feature a vibrant display of tribal cultural forms, including folk dances, folk songs, traditional musical instruments, handicrafts, tribal cuisine, and costumes, offering a rich showcase of Bastar’s diverse cultural heritage.
