BMW Group India Records Best-Ever Annual Sales in 2025, Driven by Strong EV and SAV Demand
New Delhi, Jan 2026 : BMW Group India on Thursday announced its best-ever annual performance in 2025, delivering a total of 18,001 vehicles, representing a robust 14 per cent year-on-year (YoY) growth. The performance outpaced the average growth of India’s luxury car segment, underlining the strong demand for BMW and MINI vehicles despite a competitive market environment.
Of the total sales, BMW accounted for 17,271 units, while MINI sold 730 units during the year. BMW Motorrad also recorded impressive performance, delivering 5,841 motorcycles in 2025.
The company’s momentum extended into the final quarter of 2025, with Q4 car sales touching 6,023 units, a 17 per cent increase from the same period last year, marking BMW Group India’s highest-ever quarterly performance. This achievement extends the company’s streak of record annual sales to four consecutive years, supported by growing brand loyalty and rising aspiration among Indian luxury buyers.
Notably, BMW Group India’s electric vehicle (EV) portfolio saw a sharp surge. The company sold 3,753 EVs in 2025, reflecting a remarkable 200 per cent jump over the previous year. EVs now constitute 21 per cent of total sales, compared with 8 per cent in 2024, indicating growing acceptance of premium electric mobility. Models such as the BMW i7 and BMW iX1 led their segments, with the iX1 emerging as India’s highest-selling premium EV.
Long wheelbase models experienced exceptional demand, with sales increasing 162 per cent YoY to 8,608 units. Sports Activity Vehicles (SAVs) continued to dominate BMW’s portfolio, accounting for 60 per cent of total sales. SAV deliveries rose 22 per cent to 10,748 units, led by the BMW X1 and followed by the BMW X5, reflecting buyers’ preference for versatility, performance, and road presence.
MINI India reported sales of 730 units in 2025, achieving a modest 3 per cent growth. Demand was driven by new launches, including the MINI Convertible and MINI Countryman variants, while the MINI Cooper S recorded an impressive 47 per cent sales growth.
BMW Group India’s consistent growth across segments, particularly in EVs and SAVs, demonstrates the brand’s ability to adapt to evolving consumer preferences while consolidating its leadership in the Indian luxury mobility market. With strong quarterly and annual performances, the company reinforces its position as a key player in India’s premium automotive landscape.
