Uddhav Thackeray Launches Scathing Attack on Fadnavis, BJP, Questions Their Hindutva Credibility

Nashik, Jan 2026 : Shiv Sena (UBT) President Uddhav Thackeray on Friday delivered a sharp critique of Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis and the BJP, raising questions over the party’s Hindutva credentials and its growing reliance on poaching leaders from other organizations due to a lack of grassroots strength. Speaking at a joint rally alongside his cousin and Maharashtra Navnirman Sena chief Raj Thackeray, Uddhav Thackeray spared no words in condemning what he described as the BJP’s selective ethics and opportunistic politics.

Taking a direct dig at Fadnavis’s earlier claim of “adopting” Nashik, Uddhav Thackeray mocked the BJP’s recruitment strategy. “Fadnavis talked about adopting the city, but it seems they also need to adopt children in politics. They cannot produce their own leaders, so they steal ours,” he said, emphasizing that while some leaders he had nurtured may have defected, the people who actually built Shiv Sena remain loyal to him. “Our stage is housefull. We have no shortage of loyalists,” he added, asserting the enduring strength of his party cadre.

Uddhav Thackeray questioned the BJP’s claim to Hindutva, accusing the party of compromising ethics for power. “When the BJP aligns with MIM, where does your Hindutva go?” he asked, adding that the party has become a haven for corrupt individuals. “BJP needs ‘stained’ people to run their party. They are making such people dance on their heads,” he charged.

Expressing sympathy for genuine BJP workers, he highlighted the example of Nashik legislator Devyani Farande, suggesting that loyal cadres are being sidelined in favor of “brokers and outsiders.” He also referred to former BJP minister Sudhir Mungantiwar’s comparison of the party to Shani Shingnapur, a village without doors, and retorted, “Indeed, the BJP has no doors.”

Uddhav Thackeray did not hold back in criticizing the Assembly Speaker Rahul Narwekar and the Election Commission, alleging bias and inaction. “If we do not wake up today, we will be forced into slavery,” he warned the crowd, underlining the urgency of political vigilance.

He addressed the long-standing question of his alliance with cousin Raj Thackeray, noting that despite past differences and electoral setbacks, the Shiv Sena remains undefeated in spirit. “When we were separate, people asked why we weren’t together. Now that we are together, they ask why we joined forces. We have come together not just for power, but for your development,” he said, stressing that the alliance is rooted in public service rather than political convenience.

Reiterating his commitment to Nashik’s citizens, Uddhav Thackeray emphasized that “the Thackeray word is a bond” and urged future corporators to uphold the hopes and expectations of the people. He called upon the voters to support the combined strength of the Thackeray brothers to ensure a prosperous and well-governed future for Nashik.
